Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This policy explains what TessCast collects, why, how long it keeps it, and your choices. TessCast is built to collect as little as possible: it relays your Waze screen to your car while you drive and does not record it.
What we collect
| Data | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Email address, and your password as a salted one-way hash (we never see or store the password itself) | Your account, and signing in on your phone and your car | Until you delete your account |
| Login tokens (stored only as hashes), with their creation and expiry times | Keeping your phone and car signed in | Up to 90 days, or until you sign out |
| Whether a session is running, and its video settings | Connecting your phone to your car | Until the session ends |
| Subscription status from our payment provider (no card details) | Knowing whether your plan is active | Until you delete your account |
| Technical server logs: account ID, shortened IP address (the last part removed), connection times, video data rates | Running the service, security and fixing problems | 14 days |
| Problem reports you choose to send, and crash reports from the app. They contain the app's diagnostic log, which can include street names or alerts Waze showed. | Fixing problems | 30 days |
Database backups, which contain the account data above, are kept for 14 days.
What we don't collect
- We don't store your location, routes or the map. The live picture of Waze passes through our server on its way to your car and is not saved.
- No advertising, no tracking cookies, no analytics, and we don't sell or share data for marketing.
- Payment card details: payments are handled by our payment provider (below), not by us.
Cookies
The car's browser keeps one cookie, tc_user, which keeps it signed in to your account. It is
required for the service and is not used for anything else.
Who processes data for us
- Lemon Squeezy (merchant of record): sells the subscription, takes payment, and handles tax and invoices. Its own privacy policy applies to the data you give it.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the server the data is stored on.
Waze and your Tesla are separate services with their own privacy policies. TessCast does not send them data about you.
Your rights
You can see your account details and delete your account at any time, in the app (Account) or at tesscast.com/account. Deleting removes your account, logins and problem reports immediately; copies in backups disappear within 14 days. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or to restrict how we use it, by writing to support@tesscast.com. You may also complain to your data-protection authority (in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority).
Security
All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords and login tokens are stored only as hashes, and the app keeps its login encrypted on your phone.
Children
TessCast is meant for drivers and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
